On January 15 a report was received of a burglary to a residence on South Highway 1651 in Whitley City. Perpetrator(s) gained entry through a side window. The theft was believed to have occurred between December 18 and January 15. Items taken were: - Hardwood flooring, 400 square feet, Terra Cotta in color
- Dewalt drill package, 18 volt, consisting of Sawz-All, Skill Saw, Drill, Flashlight, Battery
- Tool pouch containing electrical tools
- Skill saws (2)
- Hammer
- Dishes, box, JC Penny, white in color
- Propane heater with blower, Lowes brand, 30,000 BTU
- Propane heater, variable, 18,000BTU
- Electrical wire, box, 12/2
A case is open and under investigation. On January 15 a report was received of the theft of items from a vehicle parked at the Country Store. The victim went into the store for approximately 10 minutes, and discovered the items missing when he returned to his vehicle. Taken from the vehicle was an Army field jacket, green in color, and a set of Energizer Jump It booster cables, red and black in color. A case is open and under investigation.
On January 16 a report was received of the theft of a vehicle from a residence on Horne Lane. The theft occurred between 17:30 and 22:30 on the same date. The vehicle is a 2003 GMC Envoy, 4 door, white in color. License plate on the vehicle is 668-F2V. VIN number is IGKNDT13S632361967. Two suspicious vehicle were seen in the area around the time of the theft. A case is open and under investigation.
