On June 2 a resident of Highway 1651 in Whitley City reported a theft from their residence. Items taken were an oxygen tank and nebulizer. A case was opened and is under investigation.

On June 3 a report was taken on a missing person. The information was entered into the LINK/NCIC system. The case is open and under investigation.

On June 3 a member of the North McCreary Fire Department reported that the fire house had been broken in to and 25 gallons of gasoline had been stolen from a fire truck. Perpetrator(s) had entered through a side door on Building 2 by force. A previous attempt on the same door had occurred on May 29 without success. A case was opened and is under investigation.

On June 3 the Pastor of the House of Prayer Church on East Appletree Road reported that on Sunday June 1 at approximately 09:00 he had discovered that the basement storage area had been broken in to. Items reported missing were a 12 foot metal step ladder and two Stihl gas powered leaf blowers. A case was opened and is under investigation.

Updating a case reported of a residential burglary on Shirt Factory Road on May 24, a suspect was identified. The suspect was arrested on outstanding warrants. Suspect signed a Consent to Search form for his residence. Officers located several items that were reported stolen in the burglary in the suspect’s residence. The suspect claimed to have purchased the items from another individual. The case remains open pending Grand Jury investigation.
