New Cases through March 10th

On February 21st at approximately 14:00 a resident on Possum Trail in Whitley City reported she returned home to find all four tires cut on an automobile parked at her residence. A case was opened and is under investigation.

On February 22nd an employee of Drake Chevrolet reported that a dealer license plate had been taken from a vehicle on their lot next to the old Pamida building. A case was opened and is under investigation.

On February 23rd a resident on Vanover Ridge Road in Parkers Lake reported that between February 1 and February 10, someone cut all of the wiring out from under his mobile home and removed it from the premises. A case was opened and is under investigation.

On February 23rd a resident on Kidd Cemetery Road in Pine Knot reported that at approximately 16:10 a bronze colored passenger car had driven through his yard and damaged his mailbox and post. A case was opened and is under investigation.

On February 23rd at approximately 11:58 a victim on Williams Siding Road in Whitley City reported that her debit card had been stolen and used to buy several items from different stores. A suspect has been identified, and the investigation is continuing.

On February 28th an employee of Horizon Adult Health Care reported that someone had broken in through the back door and then broken into the medicine cabinets taking a variety of medications that belonged to their clients. Also taken was a Motorola V197 cell phone. This possibly occurred during the early morning hours. This case is open and under investigation.

On February 28th at approximately 19:00 a victim reported he had been assaulted on Mudcut Road in Pine Knot with a metal breaker bar in and about the head resulting in cuts that required medical attention. A suspect was identified and arrested, and the case is ongoing.

On February 29th a victim reported that a check stolen from her had been used to purchase $89.40 worth of merchandise from the KY-TN Cigarette Store. The stolen check was recovered from the store, and an investigation is ongoing.

On February 29th  at approximately 17:34 Ashley Perkins of Lynch Road in Whitley City was arrested on a warrant for Theft By Unlawful Taking over $300. Perkins allegedly stole jewelry from a safe belonging to a resident of Poplar Springs Road in Whitley City valued at $3,200.00. The items have not been recovered and the case remains open. On March 1st at approximately 14:55 a resident of James Drive in Whitley City reported that a subject had removed property from a storage building without permission. This occurred between noon February 29 and 13:00 March 1. Items taken were:

(5) Ozark Trail Queen Size Inflatable Mattress’
(1) Electric Generator, Brand Unknown
(1) Radiator
(1) Skill Saw 7.5 inch
(2) Camping chairs with small table attached
(1) Coleman Fuel Oil Heater
(1) Unlimited Marlboro Jump Box
A suspect has been identified, and the case remains under investigation.

On March 2nd at approximately 14:50 a resident of Michelle Wilson apartments in Whitley City reported he came home and found that his residence had been broken in to. Items taken were a Playstation (SN 101107CTC745) and 12 Playstation games. A possible suspect has been identified. The case remains open and under investigation.

On March 4th at approximately 13:17, John Wood of Covington, Kentucky, reported that subjects had removed four farm gates from his property on Roundtop Road. The thefts occurred between February 20 and February 28. Items taken were a 16ft metal farm gate and (3) 14ft metal farm gates. The gates were all red in color. A case was opened and the investigation is continuing.

On March 7th at approximately 17:10 Alyssa Barbieri of Collinsville, IL, reported that while at the Sandhill 4H Camp she had hung her Cannon IS700 Digital Camera on the swing sets and left forgetting to retrieve the camera. When she returned at approximately 16:45, the camera was gone. Subject stated that there was another family there at the time whom she did not know, and the family was also gone.  A case has been opened and the investigation is continuing.
